Clutch is a table top roleplaying game with heavy emphasis on character customization, tactical game play that doesn't bog down the moment to moment action, and easy to use survival mechanics. It takes inspiration from video games such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Fallout, and Breath of the Wild. As you take on the role of travelers in the post apocalyptic American Heartland ravished by magic Rifts that have warped and mutated the landscape.
Characters are primarily built using Edges: traits and abilities that help them survive in the wild and combat the strange forces and creatures of the world around them. However if character's take enough damage or stress, they lose their Ranks in these Edges and must rest and heal to gain them back.
In addition to Edges characters can also select a number of Spells or Psionic Talents which allow them to manipulate the world around them. Harnessing reality to their benefit.
As a survival game the environmental mechanics are also a focal point. As game masters have an array of tools at their disposal to challenge the players as they trek through the wilderness. As the rain, snow, and heat can be just a detriment to a person's survival as a bullet to the head.
Provided is a list of biomes and weather effects that can be combined and stacked to customize the environment the Players are traveling through. Along with lists of random encounters for each.
