I think it would be neat if users could add a note for themselves about any game in their library, so that when they’re browsing, they can jog their memories of what a specific game’s deal is, what they thought about it, etc. (I do this via private collections when sifting through [itch.io](http://itch.io) charity bundles, as it helps me whittle down what I would actually want to play on future occasions and highlight priority items.)

The summaries by creators only show up in library (card layout) for about 63 characters, so some are cut off midway, many are so short as to be unhelpful (e.g. “A solo pilgrimage” gives little to go on regarding mechanics, tone, theme, length…), and some creators just don’t give a summary, so you have nothing to go on in that section.

It’d be useful to have the option of adding longer explanations of what each product is, so you can see them at a glance in the library rather than having to click through to the storepage each time. This is especially relevant when sifting through bundles, as you won’t necessarily have prior knowledge of all the titles you purchased or remember their details off the top of your head, even if you checked them previously. (Especially challenging for folks like me who live with brainfog!)

While hitting the “recommend” button is a decent way to leave yourself a reminder that you definitely liked something, private notes are especially useful for if you _didn’t_ gel with a game for some reason (e.g. if you want to take those learnings to improve your personal game design philosophy or avoid similar products / play experiences in future) or it’s something you need to circle back to or playtest before you can decide whether to recommend it.

It would feel mean-spirited (to me at least) to leave that kind of casual, unqualified “I didn’t like this for X reason” or “I should get around to reading/playing/running this” note-to-self in a public context such as a review or discussion on the item’s page - minor subjective preference notes (or notes about not having even given the product a chance yet!) aren’t usually worth disheartening a creator with. (Constructive criticisms in a review are a different matter.)

At present, my main option in lieu of a private note appears to be simply deleting something from my library. That keeps things tidy if I find I dislike a given item and never intend to read/play it again or recommend it to anyone with different tastes, but doesn’t allow for much nuance otherwise.

Thanks for your consideration! 🙂

This is a great idea! I have also used notes on my collections on Itch, so I understand the benefit here.

While we can’t promise a timeline for this feature, we have added it to [the roadmap](https://support.rpgtrader.com/boards/roadmap/1) as a feature we plan on working on.
