Accessories are here! 🎲

RPG Trader just got a big upgrade.

Creators can now offer print-on-demand physical accessories for their games, alongside digital downloads and print books - all managed directly from the RPG Trader dashboard.

That means your buyers can now get not just the PDF, or even a physical copy of your book, but the stuff they actually use to play the game.

What accessories can you include?

There are currently seven types of accessories available:

  • Screens - folding GM or player screens in three sizes
  • Tear-off pads - perfect for character sheets, trackers, scorecards and more, in three sizes
  • Sheets - maps and other table-ready visual assets in 11 sizes
  • Cards - ten different shapes and sizes, with optional boxes
  • Hex tiles - four sizes for modular and dynamic maps
  • Dice - custom-printed acrylic d4s, d6s and d8s
  • Game boxes - custom packaging in four types and nine sizes

And because they’re print on demand, creators don’t need to order a pile of inventory, store boxes in their garage, or figure out fulfilment. When a buyer orders an accessory, it’s produced and shipped for them by The Game Crafter.

We’ve also built the whole process into RPG Trader: upload your files, configure the options, preview the finished product, set your price, and you’re done. This matches how print books are already handled.

How can you find games with accessories?

Any product that has available accessories will have an ‘Accessories’ badge on it, and pricing tiers that include accessories will be clearly labelled.

You can also quickly filter products to just those with accessories when browsing - we already have a few products like that available: https://rpgtrader.com/products?format=Accessories

RPG Trader is becoming a one-stop shop for TTRPGs

This is something we’re really excited about.

When we launched RPG Trader, the idea was to build a marketplace where independent creators could sell their TTRPGs without having to split their products across a bunch of different platforms.

With accessories, that vision gets a lot closer.

A creator can now offer:

:desktop_computer: Digital downloads
→ PDFs, maps, tokens, art, adventures, supplements, and more

:books: Print books
→ Physical copies of their games and supplements

:game_die: Physical accessories
→ Cards, dice, screens, maps, tiles, pads and game boxes

And buyers can discover and purchase all of that in the same place with one checkout process.

That’s a unique combination. As far as we know, there isn’t another TTRPG marketplace that brings together digital products, print-on-demand books, and an integrated range of print-on-demand game accessories like this.

That’s not just another feature for RPG Trader, it’s a big step towards realising the full vision of the marketplace.

We’re aiming for RPG Trader to be a place where you can discover a game, buy it, get the physical book, grab the accessories you need to play it, and have the whole thing fulfilled without the creator needing to run their own warehouse or pay any upfront printing fees.

Accessories are live now. :tada:

We plan on adding more accessory options over time, so if there are any others you would like to see as options, please post about it in Feature requests.
